Procrastination

I don't know what to do. it's worse than it's ever been. i can't focus and i have an enormous paper to write that needs to be good. i've done the research. i just have to type it. i know what i want to say but the words aren't flowing. I did good for the first page and a half but then i realized i needed to make dinner, change my e-mail address on amazon and numerous other cites i frequent. these books keep staring at me. i only have one light on in my house, the light in my office but i keep finding excuses to go to the bathroom or the kitchen. i can't go through grad school like this i need to go to a study skills seminar, desperately. but i can't do that tonight. Any thoughts on how to push through this?

my phi beta kappa days have come and gone. now i'm just a ma student in absentia with a thesis aversion. but i'm sending energy and focus your way.

get alii to type it for you. meaning, you sit on the couch, floor, whatever, and say what you wanna write, and she'll just put it into your word document.

that way, you aren't really writing a paper, though technically you are.

basically what i'm trying to say is trick yourself.

that's all i got.

put away the work.
go play/have sex/eat good food (don't cook it. treat yourself)/go dancing...get out of the house.
rest more.
come back to the work refreshed, excited, and ready to do what you got to do.

this only works if you are gentle and loving with your self in the process. you deserve that.

thanks for the suggestions. some will be a little easier to do than others but i think i'm moving out of my procrastinory period into my "oh $#%@! i have a week and some change to get this done" period.
